Known for his sympathetic riding style and a genuine passion for producing young equine talent, Simon’s dedication to the sport has seen him successfully complete over ten 5* three-day events, including standout performances at top-tier fixtures like Badminton and Burghley as well as 7 completions here at Blenheim. Beyond the saddle, Simon is a natural communicator and a familiar voice in equestrian media, frequently sharing insights as a presenter, podcaster, and writer.
A Fresh Role for This Year
This week, Simon steps into an exciting multi-faceted role as an official Ambassador for the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. Blenheim has always held a special place in Simon’s calendar, and this year he is passionate about breaking down the barriers between the riders and the crowd, giving fans a deeper, more personal look at what goes on behind the scenes of a major international event.
What to Look Out For:
- In the Saddle: Simon’s competitive focus is the prestigious GFS Saddles CCI4*-S for 8 and 9-Year-Old Horses -the ultimate testing ground for future global superstars. He will be piloting the exciting talent Best Escapade (affectionately known at home as Miracle), a horse that has already proven his class on the world stage after representing Team GB at the World Young Horse Championships in Le Lion d’Angers.
- On the Microphone: When he isn’t in his breeches, Simon will be stepping behind the camera and microphone to conduct exclusive rider interviews. He’ll be catching up with the sport’s biggest names!
