The Trot-Up, sponsored by Speedi-Beet, played out in the sunshine at Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials this afternoon (Wednesday 16 September). The Palace made for a magnificent backdrop as 77 horses were accepted in the CCI4*-L. Riders presented the horses to the Ground Jury, consisting of President Niki Herbert, Judy Hancock and James Rooney. The Vet Delegate was Caroline George.
The Best Dressed competition sponsored by Hiho Silver was judged by Hiho’s ‘King of the Road’ Andrew Ransford. Winners were Susie Berry (IRE) and Jack Pinkney (GB). “Susie’s silver boots definitely got my attention,” commented Andrew. “Jack also looked impeccable in his tweed suit from Holland Cooper.”
Jess Blackford from British Horse Feeds judged the Horse in Best Condition, awarding the honours to John Tilley with his horse License To Cooley. Jess presented prizes to John and his Groom, Andrew Williams.
Ed Eltham’s horse Indigo VIII was awarded Best Shod judged by Stephen Hill, Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. Ed commented, “I’m really pleased to win the award. He has been shod by Joe Whitehead for the last year or so. I have used Joe for a long time, so the award reflects what a good farrier he is.”
Tickets for the 2026 Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials are on sale now. Standard parking is free and children aged 12 and under can attend free of charge.
