“I’m really pleased with my horse. She was really amazing all the way. She’s 18, so she’s got plenty of experience, but it’s our first championship together. So we are really happy to be here. It’s a stunning place, the atmosphere is amazing, so I’m really, really happy”.

Pietro Majolino, Italy

“The horse was very tense yesterday when we walked around. But yeah, I think he was happy. And what’s the horse like as a character and to work with? Very, very sensitive. He’s more like a pony, but has a very big heart. Sensitive, but a lovely friend.”

Jaroslav Abik, Czech Republic

You’re the oldest rider here this week and the first to represent Luxembourg at European Championships. Can you talk me through what that means for you to be here? Okay. So it’s just a pleasure, and it’s amazing to be here in Britain, and an amazing place and yes, just a pleasure”.

Christian Chabot, Luxembourg

How was it for you out there? It was great. I mean, I haven’t been doing this for very long and it was a bit of a 50/50 if he was going to stay relaxed, stay with me, or if he’s going just look at everything and then he likes to get tight and jump in the air a bit. So we held it together quite well, so we’re very happy”

Noémi Viola Doerfer, Hungary

“Yeah, the horse is old and I think he knows the game already, so he was really happy at least, to be on the test. So he was a little bit fresh. And tell us a bit about your relationship with him and how long you’ve been with him. I bought him in here here a four year old. So it’s a really long career, so maybe he also knows me too well. And, yeah, we have done all Lon for there. Yeah. all the championships together. It’s a long wait”.

Sanna Siltakorpi, Finland

Robin, were you pleased with your test? Yeah, I’m very happy with my horse today. We know that he can be a bit tense in the arena, so, yeah, today it was a bit like that, but at the end, he improved a lot, and was going better and better every time.”

Robin Godel, Switzerland

“I’m happy because I think we did a good job in all parts of the test. It’s just the flying change is my problem for the moment, because he’s a young mare and for the moment, this is difficult to do perfectly. In general, I’m happy. Yeah.”

Arianna Schivo, Italy

“Yes, I’m really happy with them. We stay at home 35 is the maximum level, and this is really good for her”.

Katrin Khoddam – Hazrati, Austria

“Wouter, 33.8 for you today. Talk us through your test. I wanted to do better. But it’s a very good horse and our team, said it was good, it was our best this year, with the points of 33. It is what it is.”

Wouter De Cleene, Belgium

“Dubs was fantastic. Delivered another great test, shamed about the very obvious mistake after the half past. But you know what, he really showed himself to be the most amazing dressage horse as he is. This test is all about quite a lot of collection work rather than expressing which is what he does find a little bit more difficult, but he really, really works hard there and I couldn’t be happier with him.”

Tom McEwen, Great Britain

“I feel great. And my horse was so nice. I got stuck a little bit in the corners, I got a little bit rushed, left fence. But my horse is really nice and he feels amazing.”

Amanda Staam, Sweden

“Jerome, 30.4 entered into seventh place for you. What are your thoughts? Ah, yeah. It was a bit tense, to be honest. Normally, he’s very relaxed and last year, he was here for the first time and he was very relaxed. This time, it changed a bit with the stadium and yeah, so unfortunately, a bit tense, he could go much better, but that’s how it is.

Jérôme Robiné, Germany

“I’m happy. My horse was good. He’s really sensible, in the dressage test it’s difficult for him to stay really relaxed, calm. So today, he was really good and with me”.

Alexis Goury, France

“A little disappointing 34.7, he tried really hard. It’s all there. He’s just quite a sensitive bloodhorse and just held his breath a little bit, and I just felt I just couldn’t quite ride him out as much as as I’d wanted to, and I just missed the first change, which is so irritating because he’s absolutely nailed all of them, but whether just the atmosphere just got to him a little bit, but I’ve just been riding him since March. It’s a big atmosphere in there. He’s only 10, so he really did try. He held it all together”.

Aoife Clark, Ireland

“She’s not here for the dressage, she’s almost full thoroughbred so saw the fences and got a bit tense. She’s a good cross country horse and she will jump anything I point her at so looking forward to tomorrow.”

Susannah Berry, Ireland

“I’m really happy with him, its so lovely to have the whole team around us and be surrounded by some incredible riders. I could’ve taken more risks but really happy with him. I’ve been to Blenheim three times now with him so it didn’t really hit me that it was a Europeans until the other day.”

Calvin Böckman, Germany

Pavel Brezina, Czech Republic

“I’m so thrilled with him he’s a young horse still but also very low mileage age having only done his first 4* this year, and he has so much talent and he handled the atmosphere so well. He’s so much fun to ride cross country so hoping I can do him justice. He’s incredibly sharp so there are times where I was worried we wouldn’t gel, but at the end of his 7yo year we finally got better and better and I describe him as a real freak of nature as he is so talented. I’ve had him since the start so it’s a dream to have him here and bring him up through the levels. Its too special for words for my senior debut here.”

Bubby Upton, Great Britain

“I’m really pleased with it, you always try to get it better and as best as possible. I could tell he’s nervous with the fences and wanting to go. He was really with me and really wanted to go, but he was very soft and calm in his body – which is lovely as dressage is usually his least favourite. I’m really looking forward to cross country tomorrow.”

Janneke Boonzaaijer, Netherlands

“It was pretty good for her, she finds this bit difficult and when I look at the other rider scores I feel pleased. Myself, I could’ve been better, but the horse did everything she could.”

Felix Vogg, Switzerland

“I am pleased with him. There are a couple of slight mistakes which we could have done without, but then again he was really concentrating and trying, wasn’t too distracted, and the last couple of days he wasn’t quite feeling where I wanted him, yet today he felt much better so I am really pleased. What do you like most about him Vittoria? He has a cute face and some of his weaknesses are my strengths and vice versa. He’s careful and a great showjumper, its really special to be here with all my best friends”.

Vittoria Panizzon, Italy

He was just amazing, he came in and tried his best and I’m so proud. Really couldn’t be happier with him. The cross country is tough, it’s long, it’s hilly, but I am looking forward to it. It’s a lovely venue and there is so much variety in the park. It’s so amazing to be at the Europeans and deliver such an amazing dressage test.

Lea Siegl, Austria

I’m so proud of her. She’s not a dressage horse but she tries so hard. It felt electric, but she still stayed with me. It was very much our test. There is so much more to come from her so I’m thrilled. The journey with her has been up and down, and it didn’t quite go our way in the beginning, but she brought me my first 5* win. She’s only 12, there is so much to come. I need my big girl pants on for the cross country.

Lara de Liedekerke – Meier, Belgium

How did you feel coming out of the arena? Relief to be honest, there are high expectations on a horse like him, but he’s a total showman and loves showing off to a crowd like that. Still gives me goosebumps, I was shaking coming out of there, and I just cannot believe a horse can give as much as he does. He owes me nothing at all and continues to perform like that. What are your thoughts on the cross country? It’s a proper cross country course and times will be tight. We should have perfect conditions, which I’m excited about. He is ready, but he is a horse and not a machine, so mistakes can happen and  I need to make sure I am switched on.

Laura Collett, Great Britain

I am so happy for the horse today, she was so brave going in there. She has a bit of a meltdown yesterday in the familiarisation, but today she was so brave and so good and did her best test ever. Tomorrow will be a challenge, but a fun one I think.

Frieda Anderson, Sweden

I’m really really excited and proud of this horse, so a huge thank you to his owners, my friends. It’s a delight to have a ride him everyday. He was really good, listening and collecting. His centreline was a good start and he was riding really in front of me. There are still a few things to do, but there is always something. I am so happy to get that mark from the judges. I’m excited for the cross country, England has a huge history in the sport, I love competing here, the ground is perfect, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Michael Jung, Germany

This is my fourth time at Blenheim and I always think as I drive through the gates it an amazing atmosphere in the air so it’s always a pleasure to ride here. I think it being a European Championship obviously adds more prestige to it. It’s really lovely place to come and it’s my second time here with this horse. The test, he’s a really really big mover, so it can be a little bit hard to shorten and lengthen, I thought it was one of the best tests he could do, but I missed a change and it was quite costly, but really couldn’t ask for much more from him

Astier Nicolas, France

It’s good to be here at the Europeans, it’s an iconic venue which makes it more exciting. I haven’t come here for a long time due to lack of opportunity not lack of desire, but I love the place. Very happy to be here. I found my test pretty good, obviously I am not up there but it is not very easy to go after Michael! He doesn’t leave any points for the others, and um yea, I am excited for tomorrow and have a good feeling for it.

Ian Cassells, Ireland
