100cm Team Competition
Flamstead Pony Club in Hertfordshire were the victors in this very hotly contested Eventer Challenge competition today, which has been kindly sponsored by Spillers, with just over one penalty point between the first and second teams. Amanda Fisher, Team Manager was over the moon with the teams’ performance, given all but one are quite new partnerships. Moose, ridden by her daughter Olivia Fisher, is only six and this was the first 100cm he has ever done. At the other end of the horse ages within the team 18-year-old Prince is just back from injury and has done well in every event he has done since.
“Eventer Georgie Dalton trains the pony club and we are so grateful to her,” added Amanda. “The team have all worked so hard to get here we are all on a high!”
BPIHT Pony Club Eventer Challenge – 100cm Individual Competition
Chloe Stevens from the Warwickshire Hunt just squeezed her first in the Individual Competition by 0.48 of a penalty point. Danesfield Rodeo and Chloe have been a partnership for 10 years and she calls him ‘Mr Perfect’. “He’s the naughtiest and coolest horse on the yard and in my eyes, he can do no wrong,” said Chloe. “He jumped really well I just can’t fault him and he was definitely perfect today!”
BPIHT Pony Club Eventer Challenge – 90cm Team Competition
Polden Hills Pony Club from Somerset were the team to take the win in this class finishing with just 1.2 penalty points between them. Rachel Stamp, Team Manager, was delighted. “We came here not expecting to win. We have two very inexperienced members of the team and two with more and they were all amazing today. Blenheim has been a lucky place for us and once again it has been there for us. What a fantastic event, thank you to the Pony Club and all the organisers.”
ROR Southern Regional Dressage Championships 2023
The second day of the RoR dressage competition was ridden in beautiful sunshine and the horses shone brightly. The Novice Class was won on a score of 70.32% by Debbie Squires and Malachy’s Girl. She was bought as a four-year-old by Sue Lanz, her racing career was cut short and she came home to Sue and has had an amazing career since being a winner in showing and eventing as well as dressage. Debbie has worked for Sue for many years and she has put in all the training with Malachy’s Girl and Sue was delighted to see her win here today.
Danielle Davies took the honours in the Medium Class today, with Port who she has owned since 2018. “I’ve mainly done dressage, but just worked him up through the levels. We’ve done a bit of jumping here and there, which he loves and cross-country schooling, he’s just an all-round lovely horse to have a bit of fun on.”
“I feel really lucky, he’s now 11 and I just love him. We’ve bonded so well and it’s the best thing to have between yourself and a horse,” she concluded. I think we all agree with that.
