This Esme, talks more equestrian adventures, the incredible Summerfield Stables and the much anticipated Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials!

It’s been another really busy month! I’m back from an incredible experience at the World Equestrian Festival at Aachen where not only did I get to see top class show jumping and dressage but also got to see some great eventing. Team GB had the win, and I got to have a chat with William Fox-Pitt, and saw Little Fire do an incredible job with a hoof perfect clear round in the show jumping. It was exciting to see Little Fire again as I had a ride on him at William’s yard back in 2020 – an experience I will never forget.

Straight after Germany I made the trip up to Summerfield stables, a charity supported riding school in Birmingham. They have created a great inclusive community that supports young people from all backgrounds in understanding and interacting with horses. It was great to visit Summerfield and I think these types of organisations are brilliant for giving people the opportunity to access and fall in love with horses. This charity is a gem and maybe one day an eventing star will start their journey at Summerfield stables!

Blenheim International Horse Trials is fast approaching, it’s now less than two months away and I’m getting more excited about the event by the day. The entries are closing on the 16th of August, so they will be coming out very soon. I can’t wait to find out what equine and human star combinations will be competing at this year’s event. Blenheim is usually a good indicator oh who is destined for stardom and last year was no different with Yasmin Ingham and the amazing Banzai Du Loir achieving the honors. The pair went on to finish a superb second in the world-famous and prestigious Kentucky 5* in April 2022, a fantastic achievement by both horse and rider.

So, something really exciting happened last week and you may have already heard, but I got a call from the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials team, inviting me to design my own fence – The ‘This Esme’ Fence with renowned course designer David Evans! Wow.

David and I got to work straight away, and I cannot wait for everyone to see it. It was a lot of fun (and hard work!) to design and make. An amazing and unique experience and I can’t wait to see some of the biggest both human and equine names in eventing jumping, The ‘This Esme’ Fence!
