Florencina R, ridden by Giovanni Ugolotti for Italy, was judged the best-shod horse at the final horse inspection for the CCI4*-L at the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. The mare, currently in 14th place after cross-country, was picked out by judge Gavin Golby, an Associate of the Worshipful Company of Farriers.
A total of 65 horses go forward to the final showjumping phase, which starts at 11.30am, after two were withdrawn overnight. The top 30 will start jumping at 2.30pm.
Long-service awards to volunteers at the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials were presented to Geraldine Thomas, a crossing-point steward, Clare Hall, fence judge, Karen Bartlett (dressage writer), Peter Coles (hospital liason), Margi Gibb (administration) and Dominic Gittus (grandstands and hospitality).
