Name: Ginny Howe
Currently Living: Oxfordshire, UK
Competed at Blenheim before: Yes
Hobbies: Outside competing – Ginny loves catching up with her friends. Her Christmas party is ALWAYS fancy dress at which she excels at -she has been known to exercise her horses in fancy dress. She has hung up her skiing boots after being stranded in a complete white out/blizzard on her 1st day skiing – preferring hotter more exotic destinations. Enjoyed visiting temples in the Far East and recently did a road trip across America – Thelma and Louise style with a great friend.
Facts about Horse:
Captain is a very easy horse to do. Captain has competed here as a 8 year old and again as a 9 year old but in the long format. Out of the 8x 4* he has competed in – he has achieved 5x double clears. He was placed 2nd at Cholmondeley OI in July.
Archie is very impatient and intolerant but has been a superstar! He has far exceeded our expectations. His first two years of Eventing saw him miss out on several competitions due to balloting and then Covid restrictions yet he made the year end goal each time – year one being Novice and year two being 3*. Here he is at Blenheim despite more Covid setbacks. He loves to jump – in fact he will jump out of any field at Ginny’s – we think due to FOMO – the fear of missing out!! He is a real character and loves his job and is learning all the time.

Recently Ginny has competed at 5* with Undalgo de Windsor and 4* with Trendy Captain Clover but has had many successes across the levels over the years.
At the age of 21 she was one of the youngest riders to have competed at Badminton Horse Trials. Eventing is in Ginny’s blood. She learnt to ride before she could walk and has been part of a Pony Club family from birth, attending the Heythrop Hunt Pony Club events with her brother and sister. Her competitive career started when she was 10!
